In the Ring with Jordan #5: Sin Cara should be first challenger for new champion Kalisto

Sin Cara and Kalisto have had a very long history together, going back to the NXT days. Known as the "Lucha Dragons", Kalisto and Sin Cara combined their aerial offense into works of art. In fact, they are former NXT Tag Team Champions.

Fast forward to 2017, and both superstars are on their own. While Kalisto is finding his groove as the newest member of the 205 Live roster and the new Cruiserweight Champion, Sin Cara is lost in the shuffle.

Ever since Sin Cara and Kalisto parted ways on good terms during the 2016 WWE Draft, there has always been that question that has come to my mind: "What if?" What if they didn't end on very good terms? It's clear that WWE has more faith in Kalisto (being a two-time United States Champion on top of this Cruiserweight Title run) than they do Sin Cara. What if Sin Cara got jealous of Kalisto's singles success?

This leads me onto tonight's 205 Live episode. Some may call this "fantasy booking", but it's a realistic option that the WWE can go with. Kalisto is obviously going to have a celebration of some sorts, and what better way to celebrate Kalisto's victory than with an appearance by his good friend and former tag team partner Sin Cara.

It wouldn't be the first time a SmackDown Live roster member appeared on 205 Live, as Breezango interrupted Drew Gulak's Powerpoint presentation a couple of weeks ago, but this time it wouldn't be a one-off appearance.

Sin Cara initially could congratulate Kalisto for his big victory. They can embrace a hug and Sin Cara can raise Kalisto's hand in the air. As Kalisto has his back to Cara, Cara can snap. Sin Cara can lay Kalisto out and the explanation would be simple: jealousy.

It's a proven fact-- Sin Cara has been in the WWE longer than Kalisto has. Albeit a switch of the person portraying the character, but regardless Sin Cara has that to back himself up. Back in 2011, they experimented with heel Sin Cara. Known as "Sin Cara Negro", this all-black attire and vicious attitude made for a compelling storyline.

Tonight should be a continuation of that. However, some people may retort by saying, "Doesn't Enzo Amore still have a rematch clause?" Well, yes, but the same could be said about Kevin Owens and the Universal Championship. He never got his rematch.

There was even seeds planted for Enzo to move on from title aspirations, as Mustafa Ali broke up Enzo's pin and went in a battle of words with Amore. This and the fact that Mustafa and Enzo have been squaring off on recent WWE house shows has me wondering if another storyline will be made for Enzo.

If that does happen, then Kalisto and Sin Cara can feud. Not only that, but the next Raw exclusive pay-per-view is called TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs. Kalisto is known for his Salida del Sol off the top of the ladder to one of the Usos, so a ladder match between the two would be quite fitting.

It would get more attention drawn to the Cruiserweights in general, and it would go down as a damn good match. Call me crazy, but this booking makes logical sense.

Here's to hoping that I'm right. If not, I guess I'll just have to wait and see what goes down. Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!
